SAD NEWS: las vegas aces head coach request for termination of contract as she bitterly explained…

Las Vegas Aces head coach Becky Hammon will return to ESPN as an NBA studio analyst for the upcoming season.

David Roberts, head of ESPN’s event and studio coverage, said Hammon and the network completed a new deal for an expanded role on studio shows during a Q&A call Monday.

“Becky, who I truly believe one day will be a coach in the NBA, she is just an exceptional analyst when it comes to talking about the NBA as well as any basketball franchise,” Roberts told reporters on the call.

Hammon was an analyst for ESPN last season, and the WNBA offseason typically affords her plenty of time to work as a broadcaster while coaching. The 2023-24 NBA regular season begins on Tuesday and runs through mid-April, while Aces training camp is expected to begin in the spring.

Hammon has led the Las Vegas Aces to two consecutive WNBA titles in her two years at the helm. She was named the league’s coach of the year in 2022, her first season as head coach.

Prior to joining the Aces, Hammon was an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs for eight seasons, working under Hall of Fame head coach Gregg Popovich.

As a player, Hammon spent 16 seasons in the WNBA. She was a six-time All-Star and two-time All-WNBA first-team honoree.
