REPORT: THE PACKER COACH HAVE STEPPED ASIDE DUE TO………

By the time the 2024 season rolls around, the Green Bay Packers will already be playing for big things. That will be the floor in Jordan Love’s second season, following his first-year playoff run to the divisional round. The defense faltered occasionally even though the offense rediscovered its groove late in the season and demonstrated their ability to score points against almost any club.

After the season, the Packers hired former Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley as their defensive coordinator in an attempt to take a different approach. Still, it appears that there is currently another open defensive coaching vacancy.

The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman claims that:

Sources: Jerry Montgomery, the run game coordinator and defensive line coach for the Packers, will not be rejoining Jeff Hafley’s staff for the upcoming year. Montgomery has had numerous chances to coach elsewhere since joining Green Bay in 2015.

Montgomery served as a college on-field coach for eight years before to joining Dom Capers’ staff in 2015 as a defensive assistant. In 2018, Mike Pettine was elevated to the position of defensive line coach in his first season as the Green Bay defense coordinator. Joe Barry also gave him the job of running game coordinator in 2022. Montgomery have the longest coaching tenure with the Packers.

Tom reports that Montgomery will shortly have a staff position interview with the New England Patriots.
