Report: Leeds have drown the battle line and…….

In the last days of the transfer window, Leeds United was searching for a center-back to replace Pascal Struijk, whose unspecified recovery timeframe is concerning.

After a busy day of attempting to finalize last-minute agreements, Leeds’ transfer activity came to an end on Thursday. Daniel Farke prioritized strengthening his defense.

Although the Whites’ defensive record is among the best in the Championship this year, depth has been a problem since 2024’s start of the new year.

He becomes Leeds’ only natural option at right-back, after relying on Archie Gray in the past few months on the right side of defence.

Since Leeds’ defeat at Preston on Boxing Day, Pascal Struijk has not been available, therefore Farke’s partnership of Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon will have to suffice.

It was believed to be a boost for the defender when Farke stated that the Dutchman had stopped receiving injectable therapy for his problem this week. He was still two weeks away from team training.

It doesn’t look good for Struijk’s chances of making the team again, though, given the club’s last-minute hunt for misfitting center backs and the fact that he was even in need of injections.

It’s extremely concerning if Leeds felt the need to bolster their center-back lineup despite having Rodon, Liam Cooper, Ampadu, and Charlie Cresswell at their disposal.

What was also intriguing was Leeds’ hectic attempts to also add a centre-back to the squad too, with an offer made for Joe Worrall, as well as interest in Leicester City’s Harry Souttarr
