News now: Ronnie O’Sullivan is the real goat….

Following his elimination from the German Masters, Ronnie O’Sullivan has decided to take a vacation from snooker.

Ronnie O’Sullivan confirmed that he would be taking a break from snooker, starting with this week’s German Masters, to prioritise his health and wellbeing. The Rocket has won each of his last three tournaments, including the UK Championship and Masters, with one man especially tipped to be relieved that the 48-year-old is stepping back from the sport.

In his career, O’Sullivan has won 41 ranking titles. This season, he earned his ninth UK Championship and Masters championship. And when he goes for No. 8 at the Crucible in April and May, he will be the overwhelming favorite because he has to win one more World Championship to pass joint record-holder Stephen Hendry.

The 48-year-old’s achievements, according to CueTracker, have helped him earn a career income of almost £14 million, or £13,957,734, to be precise. Despite enjoying a remarkable career of his own, former opponent Hendry, who earned £8,804,081, trailed behind him.

In fact, he isn’t even the top-ranked Scottish player in the rankings. Hendry’s earnings place him third, behind fellow countryman John Higgins, who has earned £9,631,769 and is still playing professional snooker.
