GOOD NEWS: HE HAS FINALLY COME BACK AND…….

Troy Deeney questioned why Leeds United did not receive a penalty against Bristol City for George Tanner’s “awful” challenge on Georginio Rutter.

In Friday’s (2 February) Championship match at Ashton Gate, Tanner made evident contact with Rutter late in the first half, but a spot-kick was not given.

A man of his size should be able to score with just one touch, according to Deeney, who stated as much on Sky Sports Main Event [2 February, 20:56]. “That’s terrible, so the defender is lucky.”

The challenge was described as “reckless” by host David Prutton, and as “a penalty all day long” by Jermaine Beckford.

Leeds departs Rutter was obviously taken out by Bristol City Tanner, but referee Stephen Martin chose not to award a penalty.

Daniel Farke must have been silently thinking at that point if this may be a game-changing moment.

Even though Leeds was winning, they were unable to take any chances before the half.

However, Gnonto’s goal less than two minutes into the half proved to be the game-winning one, as Leeds triumphed for the fifth consecutive league game.
