Ryan Poles’ first pick in the first round as general manager of the Chicago Bears so far is a hit. Poles and the Bears selected offensive tackle Darnell Wright at No. 10 overall after trading from No. 1 to No. 9. And after a season in which Wright played in all 17 games, he’s now earning honors.

Wright was named to the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie team for the 2023 season. He’s the lone Bears rookie to make the team this season and is the second-straight offensive lineman to be selected to the All-Rookie team for the Bears, joining Braxton Jones in 2022.

The former Tennessee product started every game at right tackle, developing into one of the best players at his position. He was the second highest-rated rookie tackle in all of football by Pro Football Focus this season
