Lions indifferent to Bucs’ ‘revenge tour’ talk: …

ALLEN PARK — Aidan Hutchinson knows a thing or two about a “revenge tour.” While at Michigan in 2018, the Wolverines raced out to a 10-1 start, avenging losses from the previous season to Penn State, Michigan State and Wisconsin. But that campaign ended with blowout defeats to Ohio State and Florida. Now it’s Hutchinson’s Lions in the crosshairs of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who lost 20-6 at home to Detroit earlier this season. The Bucs’ Shaquil Barrett and Zyon McCollum have been vocal this week.

“I don’t know if revenge is a good thing,” Hutchinson said. “It doesn’t really matter what they think. It’s all about us in this locker room, and we all know that. We know we’ve proved that we have the tools to beat them, and I think we’re all ready to go. We’re all ready to prove it just for another week.” Throughout the week, both teams have exchanged “pleasantries,” with the Buccaneers doing the brunt of the talking. It started on Monday night after the Buccaneers took down the Philadelphia Eagles 32-9 in the wild-card matchup. QB Baker Mayfield also had some words about the film study of Lions safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Factoring everything in, Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams understands why the Buccaneers view Sunday as a revenge game for their team, but according to him, it’s just another day in the office.

“It’s just a normal game to us. We don’t look at it like that,” Williams said. “We’re just trying to come out with a win, play regular football on offense and defense, play team football, and special teams too. Do what we do best. It is nothing new to us.”
After a Week 4 victory over the Green Bay Packers, Lions coach Dan Campbell stated, “If you’re hunting us, you won’t have to look far. We’re gonna be on your front porch.” The Buccaneers have essentially declared they’re on the hunt for revenge, and come Sunday, they’ll be the ones right outside the Lions’ den Throughout the week, both teams have exchanged “pleasantries,” with the Buccaneers doing the brunt of the talking.
