Blackburn Rovers now ready to submit ‘big cash’bid for Leeds United

The Sun journalist reported on his Patreon on Sunday (14 January) that Rovers will arrive with a “serious” offer that may tempt the Whites.

Blackburn are currently owned by Venky’s, with the group valued at £1.56billion, as reported by the Mirror (22 April 2022).

Given his lack of game time this season, Cresswell looks likely to move on from Elland Road in the January transfer window.

But whether that is temporarily or permanently remains to be seen, with the defender set to be the subject of plenty of interest this month.

Cresswell has made just six appearances under manager Daniel Farke in all competitions this season, with his minutes amounting to just 307.

The summer arrival of Joe Rodon has pushed the youngster further down the pecking order, but he could still be kept on the books at Elland Road as one for the future.

For now, however, a January switch certainly suits the player, with Cresswell able to move away on loan and pick up some much-needed playing time at this important stage of his career.

Leeds will certainly want to avoid sending the centre-back to a close rival, but Blackburn are currently struggling, meaning a move to Ewood Park could be on the cards.

Rovers are in 18th place in the Championship table and could certainly do with a reliable defender like Cresswell to help shore up their leaky defence.
