The Los Angeles Rams will be taking on the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night during Super Wild Card Weekend. Yesterday, Sean McVay took the approach of making the upcming game about the teams, the Lions and Rams, while trying not to make the matchup about Jared Goff vs Matthew Stafford or the history that involves both Stafford and Goff when it comes to both LA and Detroit. There is so much history, both recent and past involving these two franchises, and that is something that makes this matchup much watch television. Plus it’s a NFL playoff game. It’s exciting on it’s own.
Do you think the teams will be able to focus on the moment? How will Goff’s past with the Ramsr address those past happenings. But that doesn’t mean Campbell doesn’t understand the outside noise surrounding this postseason pairing, with Matthew Stafford returning to Ford Field for the first time since asking for his way out of Detroit early in 2021.
“I mean, I understand why people will be fascinated by it,” Campbell said. “I get that. So, I guess I can appreciate if I’m sitting where other people are. I understand it’s one of these stories, you know?
“But I just, it’s a reminder, too, though, and (Jared) Goff knows this, for example — But we win as a team. This is about the Lions versus the Rams and we win with three phases here. And he’s (Goff) a huge part of that, and all he’s got to do is to do his part. And he knows that. Just do what you’ve been doing all year.”20+/
