DISASTER: Vikings head coach get slammed by cowboys head coach as the worst coach in NFL

Vikings Players React to News of 2024 Pro Bowl Rosters

Which Vikings players were snubbed from this year’s team?

Outside linebacker Danielle Hunter and long snapper Andrew DePaola were the only two Vikings players selected to the initial NFC roster for this year’s Pro Bowl, though six players were also named as alternates.

Head coach Kevin O’Connell informed the team of the news after a practice this week.

It’s the fourth career Pro Bowl nod for Hunter and his first time being named a starter. For DePaola, it’s his second consecutive Pro Bowl.

Which Vikings players were snubbed? A few of the names that jump out are Christian Darrisaw, T.J. Hockenson, and Josh Metellus.

It’s not egregious that Darrisaw didn’t make it when you look at the NFC OT trio of Trent Williams Penei Sewell, and Lane Johnson, but he should’ve at least been the first alternate after those three. Instead, he’s the fourth alternate, which is hard to fathom.

Hockenson has 14 more receptions and 100 more yards than starter Sam LaPorta, though he does have four fewer touchdowns. It’s a moot point anyways, since Hockenson (who is the top NFC alternate) is out for the season with a serious knee injury, but still.

And Metellus, who led all strong safeties in fan voting, arguably deserved the recognition for his critical role in the Vikings’ defensive success this season. He’s a second alternate.

“Next year my year!” Metellus tweeted.

Standout rookie linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. also took note of the Pro Bowl announcements and is undoubtedly storing it away as motivation.

Camryn Bynum was also snubbed; he should’ve at least been an alternate. The Vikings’ other alternates are C.J. Ham, Garrett Bradbury, and Harrison Smith. And of course, Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson would’ve made it had they not missed so much time due to injury.
