The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the husk of the Brooklyn Nets 144-122. The SEGABABA Nets were short-handed in this one, but don’t let the final score fool you – the Bucks kindly kept them close for most of the game. Nonetheless, Khris Middleton’s best game of the season coupled with hot shooting from behind the arc helped the Bucks restart their win streak at one.
The first quarter was a mostly even affair. Giannis Antetokounmpo and company slightly outweighed the Nets for a 32-31 lead. That was the last time any Net that I heard of played. The Bucks were then able to stake out a lead thanks to Khris Middleton winning a marquee matchup with Jalen Wilson (!), sending the Bucks to halftime with a 66-59 lead. The Nets fought back in the third quarter with plucky play, but a cold streak from deep turned hot to put the Bucks back up 100-92 at the end of the frame. That lead slowly grew throughout the fourth as the Bucks completed their trip to the Big Apple in style.
Stat That Stood Out
The Bucks were absolutely torched in the paint. Luckily, they made it rain outside, hitting 16 more threes than the Nets at a 45.1% clip. Cameron Payne, Malik Beasley, Khris, Damian Lillard, Bobby Portis, and MarJon Beauchamp contributed multiple threes, more than making up for the deficit inside. Even Robin got in on the action.
