Breaking News: Premier League manager’s comments today may just be worrying for Leeds United now

Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Brighton will be without their star player Kaoru Mitoma for six weeks, possible the entirety of the January window – and that will worry the board at Leeds United.

Summerville, 22, has been in sensational form this season. The Dutchman has had a hand in 17 goals this term, in just 21 Championship matches – scoring 11, creating six. He has a deal with us until 2026.

Interest in Summerville has been aplenty. Burnley had a £20m bid rejected in the summer. This week – Fabrizio Romano said Aston Villa are showing interest in the Netherlands U21 man, prior to January.

Villa and Burnley are not the only Premier League clubs said to be looking at “ridiculous” Summerville. Brighton are also said to be in the running for Summerville, as they prepare for Europe after Christmas.

Now, Leeds’ hopes of keeping Summerville may have just got worse. That is because Brighton gaffer De Zerbi claims Mitoma could now be out for a while: “We’ve lost Kaoru for around four, five or six weeks.”.

Comments will worry Leeds in bid to keep Crysencio Summerville

While Brighton are only one of a number of clubs interested in Summerville, it will surely be a tempting move for the Leeds flyer. The chance to join a club moving forward, the chance to play under De Zerbi.

European football, fighting for European qualification in the Premier League and playing an exciting style of football. Perfect for a player such as Summerville. He may have his head turned, should Brighton bid.

Now, with Mitoma sidelined, you would expect Brighton to enter January for a left-sided wide man and Summerville fits the bill. The update on Mitoma will have the board worried about Summerville’s future.
