To say that it’s been a tough season for the New York Jets and New York Giants would be a huge understatement.

Both have had serious issues at the quarterback position, and they’ve both failed to live up to their high early-season expectations.

Nonetheless, they’re both coming off impressive performances from unusual suspects.

That’s why it was kind of crazy to see that Tommy DeVito and Zach Wilson have been named NFC and AFC Players of the Week, according to Adam Schefter.

DeVito led the Giants to their third consecutive win, completing 17 of 21 passes for 158 yards and one touchdown for a passer rating of 113.9, adding ten rushes for 71 yards.

As for Wilson, he had perhaps the best game of his career, leading the Jets to a huge upset win over the Houston Texans by completing 27 of 36 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns, adding three rushes for 12 yards.

Wilson is pretty much auditioning to get another chance with a different team at this point.

As for DeVito, he’s playing like a legitimate NFL-caliber quarterback.

Daniel Jones is going to miss at least some of the 2024 season, and DeVito has taken their offense to a whole different level, so it wouldn’t be shocking to see him get a hold of the full-time job at least until Jones is back.
