Vikings cornerback Akayleb Evans is out for the second consecutive week with a calf strain. That means rookie Mekhi Blackmon, who gave up a couple big catches against the Broncos last week, is in line for another start.
Evans has had a strong second season for the Vikings, but it makes sense to hold him out for this game with the bye week coming up. Byron Murphy Jr., Blackmon and Andrew Booth Jr. are the Vikings’ options at cornerback against Justin Fields and the Chicago offense. Veteran Joejuan Williams was not elevated from the practice squad.
