Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh delivers major praise to Buckeyes: ‘Best Ohio State team we’ve played’

It is no secret that Jim Harbaugh has built something special in the Michigan football squad despite the controversies. He enabled JJ McCarthy and the rest of the Wolverines to be their absolute best such that they are ready for the NFL. But, these exceptional performances were put under the limelight when they faced Ryan Day, Kyle McCord, Marvin Harrison Jr., and the rest of the Ohio State football program. They gave the controversial coach a hard time in getting the win over the Buckeyes. So much so that he had to give them his flowers, via The Wolverine.

“The emphasis all week was that we wanted to be creative. We felt Ohio State was very good defensively. This, to me, was the best Ohio State team we’ve played,” was the ultimate praise that Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh gave to the Ohio State team after they had won with a 30-to-24 scoreline.

Kyle McCord and Marvin Harrison Jr. were doing their best to be in striking distance. The insanely talented duo of the Ohio State squad led the team to 378 totals with an average gain of 6.5 per play. Their air attacks notched them 271 passing yards which eclipsed what JJ McCarthy could give to his squad.

But, Harbaugh noted that it was the secondary that made the difference for the Buckeyes, “Against the run, the coverage in the pass – they haven’t given up very many big plays at all. We were able to get some explosive plays. But we knew we were going to have to be creative to get them. Every play except for maybe two of the creative plays we got off the call sheet.”

These two teams have been generational. Seeing the love between the coaches makes it more special.
