Cowboys vs Commanders: The good, the bad, and ugly from Week 12

The Dallas Cowboys continued to be one of the hotter teams in the entire league with a Thanksgiving Day 45-10 victory over their division rival, the Washington Commanders. It may have been a short week with not as much time to prepare, but they were once again impressive in a game that ended up having historic value.

The Cowboys have one more game to play in the month of November against the Seattle Seahawks before getting a much-anticipated rematch with the Philadelphia Eagles. Before we look ahead though, let’s take a look at the good, the bad, and ugly from this Week 12 matchup.

Dak Prescott continued to make his case for NFL MVP in Week 12 against the Washington Commanders by completing 22 of 32 passes for 331 yards and four touchdowns. There were a few throws that he would probably like to get back, but overall he completely shredded Washington’s secondary and ended up getting just about all of this offensive weapons involved. He’s playing at an entirely different level than just about any other QB in the league right now. If he can keep this up there may be no stopping the Cowboys.

They may have given up only a total of 10 points in this Thanksgiving matchup with the Washington Commanders, but the Cowboys defense wasn’t playing at their best Thursday afternoon. They allowed Washington to stick around a lot longer than they probably should have. Sam Howell and Company were able to put together several chunk plays throughout the game and Dallas found it difficult to get them off the field at times. Fortunately, they were able to bend and not break and in the end they got the “W”.

DaRon Bland wasn’t really at his best in this Week 12 matchup with the Commanders. He wasn’t his normal sticky self in coverage and gave up several completions he typically doesn’t throughout the game Thursday. Fortunately for him though, he redeemed himself in a big way with his history breaking fifth pick-six this year, through only 11 games! Bland has been making a lot of passes look ugly this year from QBs, but all those pick-sixes are a thing of beauty.
