Philippe has mead brutal comment For Rangers suspending A Star…..

Each time, he has justified his decisions as the Gers boss, using his squad as best he can to deal with a congested fixture list and depending on who the opponents may be.

This weekend, against Aberdeen, Philippe Clement will have as big a squad at his disposal as he has since he arrived at Rangers but could he throw an unlikely surprise for the trip to Pittodrie?

He defence and midfield almost picks themselves, especially seeing as almost all of them will have been on the training ground together over the last two weeks.

It is in attack where he has to assess what is the best approach and comments he made after beating Dundee could give an indication:

“He is somebody with good technical quality, he is also somebody with height – he is a tall guy.

“In Scottish football, you need also enough tall people for the set pieces, for the opponents who are really waiting for that, so we need to keep a balance in our squad in that way, that we don’t have too many smaller players and that we come in trouble because of that.”

When Aberdeen beat Rangers 3-1 earlier in the season, two goals came from set plays and the third from a long, direct ball.

It isn’t a pretty game plan, but it is one that clearly worked.

Rangers had chances to score the first goal but capitulated when Aberdeen scored first and Philippe Clement will be wanting to avoid a repeat.

What player who could be key was the gaffer talking about though?

Tom Lawrence and Todd Cantwell provide a bigger attacking threat in terms of sheer numbers but Philippe Clement has shown that he takes other things into consideration when picking his Rangers team.

Lammers’ extra height and ability in the air may see him edge out one of the two more popular options, especially if Danilo – as expected – is the striker picked to lead the line.

If the Dutch playmaker is given the chance, he has to take it, there are too many other players now who can influence a game and will be desperate to play.

Philippe Clement has got little wrong since he arrived at Rangers, let’s hope he gets this one right too.
