Just Now:Tim masthay will not accept the $60m grant to leave green bay packers

Tim masthay will not accept the $60m grant to leave green bay packers..

The Green Bay Packers currently have a 4-6 record on the year. They are eighth in the NFC, but if the season ended today, Green Bay would own the ninth overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Packers will have some needs this offseason, like every time.

However, the cry for drafting another quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft is diminishing by the week with how well quarterback Jordan Love has played over the last two weeks. It will be interesting to see how he will play over the final seven games of the 2023 NFL regular season, including Thursday’s showdown on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions (8-2).

With the possibility of not drafting a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft, which other direction can general manager Brian Gutekunst go in?

Green Bay’s offense is becoming very good with the young wide receivers and tight ends they have. Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft are the top two tight ends on the roster. Luke Musgrave has caught 33 passes for 341 yards receiving and one touchdown so far this season. He is averaging 10.3 yards per reception.

Musgrave was a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Oregon State. What if Jordan Love had another top tight-end talent in Brock Bowers from Georgia? He has caught 51 passes for 661 yards receiving and six touchdowns so far this season in nine games played. Bowers is averaging 13.0 yards per reception, providing another dimension to this Green Bay Packers offense.

The safest bet for the Green Bay Packers in the 2024 NFL Draft would be to draft an offensive lineman. Green Bay has a weakness in that position. Would Joe Alt from Notre Dame and Olu Fashanu from Penn State already be gone by the time they pick?

Possibly, but the offensive line draft is so deep this year. Amarius Mims from Georgia and JC Latham from Alabama could very well be on the board, and Taliese Fuaga from Oregon State is climbing up draft boards in the 2024 NFL Draft in a hurry. This is the one position that general manager Brian Gutekunst has to take at some point because of the unknown with David Bakhtiari’s future.

With Rasul Douglas being traded and with Jaire Alexander being injury-prone this season, would the Green Bay Packers draft defense again in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft? That seems to be a theme for general manager Brian Gutekunst. The top cornerback on the board this season is Kool-Aid McKinstry from Alabama.

Nate Wiggins from Clemson is another name that could be taken in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft at the cornerback position. Rookie Corey Valentine and Kesean Nixon have played well in spots this season, but they need more depth and quality starters at the position.
