Two weeks ago, the Vikings played their fourth game of the season and soon learned that star player Justin Jefferson would be out for several weeks. Rumors soon circulated that soon-to-be free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins was up for sale. Instead, the Vikings brass announced that Cousins was not on the trading block and the veteran QB rewarded them with two straight wins, including a 22-17 win Monday night at home over the 49ers. Cousins finished the game 35-of-45 for 378 yards and two touchdowns, helping the Vikings to their third win in four games. “One game here, one game there. We had some tough losses,” Cousins said. “Last year we were lucky to beat them. We found an opportunity tonight.”
The Vikingsand#039; In Jefferson’s absence, freshman Jordan Addison has been the breakout star. Addison had 7 catches for 123 yards and both touchdowns against the 49ersand#039 on Monday night; protection Tight end T.J. Hockenson added a team-high 11 catches for 86 yards. In all, the Vikings had 24 first downs, 8-of-13 third downs and 452 total yards.

The Vikings had three tackles for loss and one sack in the game, holding the Ninersand#039; the vaunted rushing attack had just 65 yards, a season low for San Francisco.
The Vikings arrive in Green Bay ranked 11th in the NFL. The Vikings are 30th in the league in rushing, but have the third-best passing attack. The Vikings are 23rd and 20th in red zone offense so far. Trailing with 19:17 left in the game, quarterback Jordan Love threw an interception for a deep ball that ended the Packersand#039; the last drive just a field goal away from a comeback win. The Packers offense struggled much of the day, especially through the air. In fact, quarterback AJ Dillon led the Packers with two catches for just 34 yards. Love finished the day 21-of-31 for just 180 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. In all, the Packers gained 331 yards on offense, including just 6.1 yards per game.
Defensively, the Packers finished the day allowing 339 total yards of offense for an average of 6.2 yards per play. The Packers did not record a single tackle and had one sack and three tackles for loss. The Broncosand#039; on the field chewed up 145 yards rushing and averaged 5.8 yards per game.
