Pundit ‘angry’ with Patrick Bamford as Leeds United criticised over Georginio Rutter issue

A pundit was furious with Patrick Bamford after Leeds United criticized Georginio Rutter’s problem

Leeds United suffered a real check at Stoke on a cold Wednesday night. The Whites were in excellent form heading into the Potteries, but Pascal Struijk’s own goal meant they suffered just their second defeat in their last 11 games.

There is no time for the Whites to panic as they are back at Elland Road on Saturday when they host Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town. In the meantime, we’ve collected the latest news and gossip from around Leeds. Begovic still “furious”

Asmir Begovic spoke about Patrick Bamford’s penalty miss on Wednesday night following the controversial incident during Leeds’ recent win over QPR. Bamford dived and took out Begovic, although the red card was later successfully appealed.

Begovic was working as a pundit for Sky Sports on Wednesday night and admitted he was still “furious” at Bamford’s antics. “He apologised,” said the QPR manager. “We knew each other before and we said that right after the game. But I’m still angry.” Bamford avoided retroactive FA action which could have seen him banned for two games.

Leeds criticized the lack of service

Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie criticized Leeds for their lack of service from Georginio Rutter on Wednesday night. The whites could not create clear chances as only three of 16 attempts hit the target.

“It’s not good enough. “He didn’t have a good enough clearance,” Hendrie said. “He’s Leeds’ main threat going forward but he didn’t have enough of the ball. He had to drop in places you don’t want him to.”

– It is clear that these touches are not enough in 38 minutes. You need your key players on the ball, and he has to deliver.” Rutter has been key this season, but he hasn’t been helped by resting Crysencio Summerville, which has meant less service.
