AFL Injury List 2023: Jack Payne, Taylor Adams miss selection

Collingwood will enter their qualifying final without Nick Daicos after the club confirmed he has been ruled out while he recovers from a knee injury.

Daicos has missed the Magpies’ last three games after suffering a hairline fracture to his right knee during the club’s Round 21 loss to Hawthorn.

But Collingwood fans’ hopes that he was preemptive were dashed on Friday night. Watch every round of the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership season live on Kayo Sports. The new Kayo? Start your free trial now & gt;

The Magpies confirmed to Fox Footy’s Jon Ralph that Daicos will be out for 7-10 days. He would then have to go through various stages before he could consider returning to the team.

It is also possible that Collingwood will feature in the first of four weekly finals, which will almost certainly take place on Thursday night. If that happened, Daicos wouldn’t have a chance to make it in time for this clash.

However, if the Pies were to win their first final without Daicos and have the semi-final weekend free, the young superstar would have plenty of time to prepare for the preliminary final.

Daicos still have a great chance of winning this year’s Brownlow Medal after a brilliant 2023 campaign – despite missing the last three home and away games.

Moore, who was forced out against Geelong in round 22 with a hamstring injury, trained well with the club’s VFL squad on Friday and will take part in match simulation next week.

Defenseman Nathan Murphy (hamstring) and small forward Beau McCreery (ban) are also expected to return to Collingwood’s squad for the qualifying final.
