Packers Trade Rumors: Trade Pitch (Again) Sends Davante Adams to GB

Packers Trade Rumors: Trade Pitch (again) sends Davante Adams to UK

Look, it’s far. Of course it is. But as the NFL draft deadline approaches, there are and should be plenty of Packers trade rumors and plenty of Davante Adams rumors. As these two creatures spin there, someone spins them together.

Now it’s in an SB Nation article titled “8 NFL Trades That Must Happen Before the Trade Deadline.”

That suggests the Packers are shopping Adams because they need a veteran presence among their very inexperienced wide receivers, and Adams has voiced his displeasure with the Raiders, which he did again this week — and quite forcefully. “There has been talk of the Packers adding a veteran receiver to help guide the young players in the front office and develop freshman Jordan Love. Perhaps bringing Adams back to the NFC North would make everyone involved happy,” Mark Schofield and James Dator wrote on The Place.

Davante Adams expressed the disappointment of the raiders

Adams, as his fans in Green Bay must have noticed, has struggled with the Raiders’ offense this season despite back-to-back wins (including one over the Packers in Week 5) that lifted Las Vegas back. 500, 3-3.

Adams has 39 catches for 471 yards this season.

“I’m a human being and I have very high standards for myself and this crime. … I’m sure people are thinking, ‘They won the game, they won the Packers game, so why is there a problem?’ Adams said Wednesday. “You see why it’s a problem. You all should know who I am, know where I’m from now.”

The Packers know what Adams is, made five Pro Bowls in eight seasons with Green Bay. But the question remains whether the Raiders will, as the organization has cycled through coaches and quarterbacks in two seasons in Las Vegas (it will play with its fifth different starter in 24 games this week).

Adams publicly acknowledged his frustration with the inadequacy and lack of the game plan. Thus the return of Davante Adams to the Packers trade rumors.

“When you’re a mental player like me, my benchmark is not wins and losses, but greatness,” he said. “So when I go out there, hopefully I have a chance to tape it and make an impact on the game…

– I came here to win and do it right. So if it doesn’t look the way it should look, I’ll be disappointed if I’m not part of that plan.”

There is an ESPN rumor that the Packers are looking to trade the wide receiver, but now comes the Debbie Downer segment about that offer. It is indeed highly unlikely that Adams, who is under contract for $14.7 million this year and $25 million next year, will be the receiver.

And Adams is 31. While the Packers would be better off signing a veteran receiver to give Jordan Love a reliable starting point, they’d prefer someone closer to their timeline. Being the youngest roster in the league means that if you’re old enough to rent a car, Green Bay probably won’t care.

However, the trade deadline is 10 days away, and the thought of bringing Adams back to the Packers to help the team make the playoffs this season is gratifying. Enjoy it, and whatever the Packers trade rumors are, you can keep your hands off it while you can.
