The Green Bay Packers have moved on with several wide receivers in recent years. The most notable, of course, was Davante Adams. The Packers also moved on from Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb this past offseason.

However, the Packers moved on from a third-round draft pick from a few years ago. Now he finds himself back on the open market looking for a new team.

The Indianapolis Colts officially waived Amari Rodgers on Friday.

Rodgers had a season-high 20 offensive passes against Jacksonville, but saw only two targets and missed both. Over the course of three games, the wideout had only received those two targets. As a result of Rodgers’ departure, the Colts claimed cornerback Ameer Speed off waivers from New England.

In 35 career games with the Colts (2023), Texans (2022) and Packers (2021-22), he has caught 20 passes for 249 yards and one touchdown. In addition to three carries for 18 yards, Rodgers has returned 40 punts for 305 yards (7.6 average) and 17 kickoffs for 321 yards (18.9 average).

Rodgers’ career hasn’t unfolded the way many expected since decommitting from Clemson. It will be interesting to see where he gets another shot in the NFL.
