The Green Bay Packers will receive their 2021 first-round pick before their Week 7 matchup against the Denver Broncos. The Packers announced they released the linebacker to make room to activate the secondary.

Head coach Joe Barry said earlier this season that the absence of quarterback Eric Stokes was a “champagne problem” for the Packers’ defense. According to a statement from the Packers on Saturday afternoon, Stokes will be on the roster for the first time since Week 9 of last season, when they activated him from the PUP list:
The Packers released linebacker Justin Hollins to make room for Stokes. Stokes was questionable for the Broncos on the Packers’ Week 7 injury report. He was limited in practice all week.

It can be assumed that the Packers plan to play Stokes if they activate him on Saturday.
Stokes’ return comes at a fortunate time for the defence. Jaire Alexander is questionable for the Broncos with a lingering back injury. Alexander did not practice on Friday.
