Kyler Murray Injury Update: Cardinals QB Still Out Of Sunday’s Class Against Seattle Despite

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon has made a decision on his Week 7 starting quarterback. It’s not Kyler Murray, though. Josh Dobbs got the start against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

The first-year Cardinals head coach believes Dobbs will have a breakout game against Seattle. – He plays very well against Seattle. I know that.”

Josh Dobbs played well in Kyler Murray’s absence, passing for 1,215 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions in Week 6.

While Arizona is an offensive team, their defensive ineptitude is concerning. The Cardinals’ 376.7 yards per game is currently 29th in the league. They also allow an average of 27.0 points per game. The Cardinals are currently 1-5 in last place in the NFC West.

In Gannon’s inaugural year at the helm of the Cardinals, the team was plagued by injuries. The big setback was Kyler Murray’s ACL injury, which sidelined him for the first six weeks of the season. Recently, the Cardinals opened a 21-day practice window for both tight end Kyler Murray and safety Budda Baker. However, the exact date of the duo’s comeback is still unclear.

Arizona faces a Seattle team with its own problems. The diminished offensive line of the Seahawks surrendered six sacks in a 17-13 Week 6 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Seattle wide receiver DK Metcalf is also struggling with a hip injury. His status for the Week 7 game against the Cardinals remains uncertain.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray participated in Wednesday’s practice after missing the previous two games with an ankle injury

Coach Kliff Kingsbury noted that Murray moved better than he did during the shutout on Friday, but did not rule Murray fit this week.

Murray missed the first two games of his NFL career after suffering an ankle injury in Week 8.

Colt McCoy started two shutouts as the Cards went 1-1 without their MVP candidate at quarterback. McCoy was also at practice Wednesday after suffering chest pain in the Week 10 loss to Carolina.

Murray was on fire before the injury, leading the NFL in completion percentage (72.7) and passing yards per attempt (8.9) and second in passing yards (110.4). After falling out of the NFC lead with last week’s loss, Murray hopes to return to the divisional battle on Sunday against Russell Wilson’s Seahawks.

If he can play, Murray needs 31 passing yards in Week 11 to become the fourth-youngest player in NFL history to reach 10,000 career passing yards. Murray turns 24 years and 106 days on Sunday.

Star receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who also missed the last two weeks with a hamstring injury, was again absent from practice.
