NFL QB Index, Week 7: Tua Tagovailoa returns to No. 1; Matthew Stafford enters top five

The Wests Tigers forward is expected to leave Castleford Tigers to sign with the Super League club

The West Yorkshire club finished second bottom of the Super League table after just six wins all year, with managers Lee Radford, Andy Last and Danny Ward taking over at one stage of the season.

Craig Lingard was now appointed as head coach and new players such as Elie El-Zakhem, Nixon Putt and Josh Hodson were brought in.

Castleford’s recruitment drive is almost over, but one man waiting for the club to clear a quota place is Wests Tigers forward James Roumanos.

Earlier in the year, League Express revealed that Roumanos was the Tigers’ interest, but the club were unable to sign him before the August deadline. Interest from the Tigers has continued as Lebanon international Roumanos, who has five caps, is set to join Castleford following a player quota move, League Express can reveal.

That quota player is widely believed to be Albert Vete, with the club trying to find an alternative elsewhere for a season-long loan that would see the former Hull KR prop removed from Castleford’s quota.

However, League Express understands that Vete has asked for another chance at The Jungle after a dismal first year at the club.

Roumanos, 24, has yet to play a match for Wests Tigers since joining the club, but will make his Manly Sea Eagles debut in 2022.
