Lions get mixed injury updates on Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown

Lions get Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Various updates on Brown’s injuries

The Detroit Lions are hoping to get some key players back for Sunday’s Week 6 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs and winger Amon-Ra St. Brown missed both of last week’s games against the Carolina Panthers after dealing with injuries.

However, it is not clear whether Gibbs or St. Brown is ready to dress this week. Gibbs did not practice Wednesday as he continues to work through a hamstring injury, while St. Brown was limited in practice, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Even without St. Without Brown and Gibbs, the Lions had no problem beating the Panthers 42-24 to go 4-1 on the season. The running game didn’t miss a beat as David Montgomery ran for 109 yards and 19 carries. Quarterback Craig Reynolds also added seven carries for 52 yards and one touchdown. The passing game also went without St. Brown it well. Josh Reynolds led the incoming troops with four receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown. Tight end Sam LaPorta continues his rookie season with two more touchdown passes.

However, it will be nice for the Lions to get those two players back because the Buccaneers are a tougher opponent than the Panthers. Not only are the Bucs 3-1, but they are also resting before the bye week. Coach Dan Campbell noted that St. Brown could “probably” return this weekend, but Jahmyr Gibbs will likely have to return to practice before he’s ready to play again.
