Leeds United showed their attacking prowess as they cruised to victory at Millwall to go top of the Championship.
Summer signing Joel Piroe doubled and Georginio Rutter added a third as Daniel Farke’s side showed the edge they hope will return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
They claimed their first win at The Nest since March 2012 to claim the bragging rights in the lively rivalry between the two clubs.
Piroe, a £10.5m signing from Swansea last month, completed the move in the 15th minute after Georgino had opened the scoring for him.
The Dutch forward had a chance to double his lead in the 78th minute when Dan James tripped the ball but knocked it into his own path.
Georginio then made absolutely sure moments later, crashing the ball high into the net after James picked him out in the box.
While Leeds climb into 10th in the early season standings, Millwall sit 18th with seven points gained from their opening six games.
